Overview

Things change, and you may need to update your Brex account details for any number of reasons. While only account and card admins can make account-level changes, any user can update their personal information, such as their phone number, email address, or password.


Phone number

To update the phone number associated with your Brex account, please follow the steps below. Step 1: Click your name at the top right of your dashboard and select Personal settings. Step 2: Next to Phone number, click Update on the right and enter your new number. If you can’t make this change from your dashboard, please contact Brex Support via live chat. Once updated, your new phone number will also apply to the following:

  • SMS two-factor authentication
  • Verifying your identity when contacting Brex Support
  • SMS notifications and receipt matching

Note: Each user can only have one phone number associated with their account. It can be a US or international number.


Email address

You’ll always have a single email address associated with your Brex account, which you can use to:

  • Sign into your Brex account
  • Forward receipts to be automatically matched
  • Verify identity or troubleshoot verification
  • Receive email notifications

Allow user to update their email addresses

By default, users of any role type can update their personal email address by following the steps below. However, account and card admins can disable this ability for all users on the account by going to Company settings > Employee experience and toggling off Update email. Note: You cannot disable this capability on an employee-by-employee basis

Update your personal email address

You’ll specify this email address when you first create your Brex user account, but you can update it later by following the steps below: Note: If your account has an HRIS or SCIM connection, you’ll need to contact your admin, who can use the connected software to update your email address.

In your dashboard

Step 1: Go to Personal settings and, next to Your email, click Update email. Step 2: Enter your new email address and click Continue. Step 3: You’ll receive a verification email to your new address. Click Verify in the body of the email to complete the update. The update will not be successfully completed until you have verified your new email address. Note: You’ll need to verify your new email address within 24 hours in order for the change to take effect. Each user can only have one email address associated with their account.

In your app

Step 1: Go to your Account & settings. Step 2: Tap the icon next to your name and tap Open web browser. This will direct you to sign into your dashboard from a browser to update your details.

Update another user’s email address

If you’re an account, card, or user management admin, you can start the email address update process on behalf of one of your team members. After you make the update, they’ll receive a verification email to their new address to complete the change. Note: If your account has an HRIS or SCIM connection, you’ll need to use the connected software to update the employee’s email address instead.

In the dashboard

Step 1: Go to Team and tap the name of the user whose email address you want to update. Step 2: In the details side window, scroll to User details and click Update email next to the user’s current email address. Step 3: Enter your new email address and click Continue. Step 4: A link will be sent to the user’s new email address to verify that they have access to the new email address. The update will not be successfully completed until the user has verified their new email address. Note: Each user can only have one email address associated with their account.


Password

If you're signed in

To reset your password when you can't access your Brex account, please click here to request a reset link. To reset your password from your Brex dashboard, please follow the steps below. Step 1: Click your company's name at the top right of your dashboard and select Settings. Step 2: Under Personal, find Password and click Reset.

If you can't sign in

If you can’t sign into your Brex account, to reset your password, click here to have a reset link sent to your email.
