## Connection methods

### [US banks] Instantly connect through Plaid

We recommend securely signing in with your banking credentials to connect your bank account through Plaid. This verifies your bank account for reimbursement and repayment use. To get started, search for your bank in the Plaid modal and follow the steps presented.

**Note: **Brex facilitates all money movement through our own systems. Plaid is only used to verify ownership of your bank account to help prevent fraud.

### [US banks] Connect with account and routing numbers

If your bank isn’t available through Plaid or you’d rather not sign in with your bank credentials, you can connect manually by following the steps below:

**Step 1**: Click your name in the top right > _Personal settings_.

**Step 2: **Under _Personal bank account,_ click _Connect account_.

**Step 3:** Click _Continue_ and enter your phone number or choose _Continue as guest_.

**Step 4: **Scroll to the bottom of the Plaid popup until you see _Link with account numbers.

_**Step 5: **Enter your account and routing number.

Micro deposits will be made to your account within one business day. Once you receive them, you can return to your _Personal settings_ page to verify the transaction code by inputting the three-letter code that follows the X. For more information, please see Plaid’s Document [here](https://plaid.com/docs/auth/coverage/same-day/#prompt-user-to-verify-micro-deposit-code-in-link) or the _External banks_ section under [micro-deposits](https://www.brex.com/allowlist-authorize-brex).

### [Global banks] Connect using local banking details

Brex supports reimbursements in your local currency for bank accounts based outside of the US. Start by entering your personal address and local bank account details. The details requested are based on the country you selected in the previous step. If the information doesn’t align with your local account, click _Back _until you see _Country Selection_ and ensure the country is correct.

## Information sharing policy

Brex receives your bank account information from this connection, which is necessary to facilitate transfers for reimbursements and repayments. By manually connecting your account, you’ll give Brex visibility into your account and routing number, for the purpose of sending reimbursements. By instantly connecting your account, you’ll give Brex visibility into your balance. No data will be shared externally.

Click _Connect Account_ to start the connection process. Please make sure to select the correct country code for your bank account. If you run into errors while reconnecting through Plaid, you may want to try connecting your personal bank account manually.
