For your primary Brex business account, you can choose a custom percentage or specific dollar amount for allocating funds between FDIC-insured cash and money market funds (MMF) by following the steps below. You can change the allocation strategy at any time.

Step 1: Click your company's name at the top right of your dashboard and select Settings.

Step 2: In the Company tab, scroll down to Allocation and click Manage on the right.

Step 3: Choose an account and review the current allocation strategy. Hover over the information icons for more details. Click Manage.

Step 4: Select Set custom allocation to edit the percentage or specific dollar amount of funds held in cash and MMF.

Step 5: Set preferences for handling future deposits. Either maintain the same percentage split or set a cap for how much you’d like swept into FDIC-insured bank accounts or MMF.

Step 6: Review changes and click Confirm to save.

For secondary accounts and beyond, you will only have the option to choose 100% FDIC or 100% MMF. You can make this election when creating a new Brex business account or update it later by following these steps:

Step 1: Click your company's name at the top right of your dashboard and select Settings.

Step 2: In the Company tab, scroll down to Allocation and click Manage on the right.

Step 3: Choose an account and review the current allocation strategy. Hover over the information icons for more details. Click Manage.

Step 4: Select either 100% MMF or 100% FDIC. Review changes and click Confirm to save.

Once changes are made, all card and Brex business account admins will receive an email notifying them that the strategy was adjusted. The updates will take effect within one business day. You can change the allocation strategy at any time.
