How can I manage my Brex account on Slack?
You can now automate expense reviews through Slack without signing in to Brex! You’ll receive messages when your transactions are missing a receipt or memo, and you can resolve them directly in Slack.

Add the Brex app to Slack
To add Brex as an authorized Slack app and allow employees to begin using it, you’ll need to:
Be a Brex account or card admin.
Have permission in Slack to install apps into your workspace (being a Slack admin is not required).
Have a company expense policy set up first. Instructions for creating an expense policy can be found in this help article.
For account and card admins
Step 1: In your Brex dashboard, navigate to Expenses > Company expenses.
Step 2: Click Add to Slack on the banner at the top of the page. Or go to Settings > Expenses > Expense review reminders in Slack > Add to Slack.
Step 3: Provide authorization and install the app.
Once set up, you’ll see Slack in your Brex dashboard by clicking your name in the top right corner and going to Integrations > Productivity.
For other users
You can view the connection in your Brex dashboard in Personal settings > Connected integrations. From here, you can also refresh or disconnect by clicking the three dots in the top right corner.
If an account or card admin hasn’t set up the Slack integration, they can do so by going to Settings > Manage my account > Slack > Integrations > Connect.
Alternatively, you can open the App section in Slack and search for “Brex”.
Migrating to Enterprise Grid
If you move your Slack workspace to Enterprise Grid, you'll need to repeat the above steps to reinstall the app once your migration is complete.
Responding to expense messages in Slack
Users will receive Slack messages about all of their transactions that violate your company’s expense policy, particularly regarding missing information like receipts or memos. To resolve the alert, please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Reply directly to the Slack message with the missing information. Send a receipt image as an attachment or a memo as a message.
Step 2: When doing this for the first time, grant Slack permission to access your Brex account by signing in to Brex.
Step 3: Wait for a confirmation Slack message that the information has been uploaded to Brex.
Remove the Brex app from Slack
You can remove the Brex app from a Slack workspace by following these steps. Once you remove the app, Slack will no longer have access to your Brex data, and Brex will no longer appear on Slack.
