Challenges
Finding a banking partner that could scale
As second-time founders, Selin Kocalar and her co-founder Karun Kaushik knew the pain of outgrowing financial infrastructure. Their previous healthcare AI company had chosen a banking provider that couldn't keep pace with their growth, forcing them to navigate the time-consuming process of switching providers mid-scale.
"We wanted to make sure we weren't just going with something that would get us up off the ground and running, but also something that would scale with us going into future years," explains Selin. "We wanted to go with the choice that would scale with us, and not just serve us in year one."
The challenge was finding a financial partner that could handle everything from day-one banking needs to complex multi-departmental spend management as they scaled to hundreds of customers and dozens of employees.

"This is one of those things where, as a founder, you don't want to waste time dealing with it, so it's best to just go with someone that's reliable and has your back."
Delve implemented Brex's complete financial platform, including corporate cards with department-specific limits, automated expense management, and streamlined invoice processing. The team set up cards by department, giving marketing, customer success, and other teams the flexibility to experiment and spend within their budgets without constant approval workflows.
"Brex abstracts a lot of the stuff out of the way, so all I personally think about is how many credit cards we have, and the spend limits on each of those," says Selin. "All the back office work is taken care of."

Automated finances and a national billboard campaign
With Brex handling their financial infrastructure, Delve's team gained the freedom to focus on scaling their compliance platform rather than managing banking logistics. The automated systems eliminated manual processes that previously consumed valuable time.
"A lot of times, these are things that we'd have to do manually in the past. Now we just upload any invoice to Brex. It automatically takes care of any paperwork that needs to get filled out, and makes things like approvals or reviews super easy," Selin explains. "From that perspective, Brex has been a huge time saver."
The departmental card structure empowered teams to move quickly on growth initiatives. Marketing executed viral campaigns like their 10,000 Donuts and Doormats campaigns, while customer success could surprise clients with gifts to celebrate milestones, all without bureaucratic approval delays.
"Brex gives our team members the flexibility to spend where they need, and also have a sense of how much experimentation budget they have," notes Selin. "If you can go the extra mile for a customer, send them a surprise or send them a gift because they had just announced a fundraising round, it gives our CS team the flexibility to go and pursue these ideas without extra financial busywork."
Brex enabled some of Delveās biggest brand moments, including a billboard campaign across San Francisco, Austin, and New York in Times Square. This included bus wraps, subway ads, and train station takeovers, all with the help of Brex. "Starting as two students hacking in an MIT dorm room, Times Square was especially a huge moment, and the fact that Brex enabled it for us was amazing," Selin recalls.
The partnership has proven so valuable that even as Delve continues to hypergrowth, switching providers isn't a consideration. "Brex has a special place in our hearts," Selin confirms.
