Introducing the Brex API & No-Code Automations

As part of our dedication to helping businesses save time and scale, we’re excited to announce today’s launch of the Brex API and no-code automations. The Brex API can be used by developers to build more in-depth and creative automations, while our no-code automations can be used by any Brex customer with admin account privileges, regardless of whether they have a technical background.
Here’s a closer look at what both features offer:
The Brex API: Automate Almost Anything
With the Brex API, developers at your company can have open access to your financial data on Brex, without having to get in touch with customer support.
Any Brex customer with admin account privileges can create API tokens directly from the Settings tab in their Brex Dashboard. From there, developers can build almost any workflow automation they envision, though here are some common uses:
Automatically send ACH, check, and wire payments
Take the headache out of vendor management and make payments programmatic (ACH, wires, and checks) using our payments API.
Create custom reports to track business vitals
Access your Brex transactions anywhere and customize your dashboard and reports using the data that matters most to you with our transactions API.
Scale your spending, with control
Streamline how employees access your Brex account and issue virtual cards with dynamic spend limits from wherever you work, whether your CLI or a spreadsheet, using our team API.

No-Code Automations: A Time Saving Solution for Everyone
While the Brex API is for developers, we believe you shouldn’t have to know how to code to create helpful automations.
Brex now integrates with Zapier so that anyone can connect Brex with the tools they use everyday to improve their workflow.
With Zapier, you can easily connect Brex to other apps, then automate tasks between them.
Here are a few things you can do with Zapier's ready-made Brex automations (called ‘zaps’), which are now available online for all Brex accounts that have admin privileges and who have also signed up for Zapier:
Offload vendor onboarding
Your vendors can onboard themselves by filling out an online form or issuing your company an invoice with payment details
Add Brex users automatically
Set it up so that as soon as an employee is hired, they’re added to your Brex account—without you ever signing into your dashboard. Just send a message in Slack, submit a Jira ticket or make it happen the instant an employee is added to your HR software.
Manage cards like magic
Automatically issue new Brex virtual cards simply by updating a spreadsheet, completing an online form, or adding a bill to your QuickBooks account.
You can also connect your Brex account to any of the ~4,000 apps in Zapier, including Slack, Salesforce, QuickBooks, & Xero, meaning you can automate nearly any task you can think of.
