Why can’t I dispute a charge?


You can submit a fraud or merchant dispute directly from your Brex dashboard. However, there are a few instances where you won’t see this option available.

The transaction is pending

When it comes to merchant disputes, a transaction needs to fully process before you can dispute it. While the transaction is still pending, there’s a chance that the vendor won’t approve it. If this happens, the charge will drop automatically.

Note: Fraud disputes can be initiated even when a transaction is still pending.

The transaction is on someone else’s card

For security purposes, only an admin or the owner of the card on which the transaction occurred can dispute it.

It’s been over 90 days

Transactions that took place over 90 days ago cannot be disputed from your Brex dashboard or app. If your transaction occurred over 90 days ago, please reach out to Brex Support.
