Company credit limits

Your company's credit limit is the amount that you can spend as a team within your statement period. This limit is dynamic by design and is regularly adjusted by Brex according to your spending patterns and cash balances.

Credit limits don't reset after a specific time period. Once your current balance has been settled–either when your statement is due or after you’ve made an early payment–you’ll have access to the full limit again.

User limit

Your user limit is the amount that you’re able to spend as an individual user every month. It will reset on the 1st of every month and is determined by an account or card admin. This limit is independent of your company's credit limit and spending as a whole.

Account or card admins can set or change user limits by following instructions in How do I change a team member's user limit?.

Limit applicability

The limit that is lowest will take precedence. Please see the examples below.

  • If your user limit is $100 and your company credit limit is $300, you’ll only be able to spend up to $100.

  • If your user limit is $400 and your company credit limit is $200, you’ll only be able to spend up to $200.

With Brex Empower, your account will have an overall credit limit and budgets will replace user limits to guide employee spending. Assign individuals to budgets with custom spending limits by following the steps in How do I create or request a budget?.
