What you’ll do
As a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer on our Users team, you will work across the entire Brex stack to build solutions that manage user lifecycles and integrate with HRIS systems - core to support all Brex products and critical for maintaining enterprise onboarding processes. You will have the opportunity to learn and push the frontier of providing the best enterprise onboarding processes and supporting a large, high-performing engineering team. You’ll be encouraged to be metric and data-driven and to think creatively to help Brex scale and get prepared for the new markets we are about to enter.
We’re looking for folks with not only an interest in building products and tools but also in leading multi-functional projects with lots of moving pieces. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to drive direct business impact and shape our long-term technical vision with a high-quality bar.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in our San Francisco office. You must be willing to work in office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineers across the company to build new features and products end-to-end
- Own problems end-to-end, thinking through everything from user experience, data models, scalability, operability and ongoing metrics.
- Provide technical leadership to team by driving roadmap direction, architectural design and mentorship
- Work side-by-side with user-facing teams (Sales, Support) to best understand the needs of our customers.
- Tune and polish features to a high degree of excellence.
- Identify and implement reliability and performance improvements
- Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes you will encounter
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience with a focus on frontend development with React alongside designing, developing, and deploying full-stack products
- Experience developing software for the Web platform, including cross-browser compatibility
- Experience in architecting, developing, and testing client-side code end-to-end
- Experience building and designing scalable backend systems
- Platform or Full-Stack development experience preferably in Kotlin(Java, Scala and Groovy are also acceptable)
- Experience with modern technologies and tools like ES6+, React, Typescript, GraphQL & Webpack
- Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Kubernetes familiarity
- Experience Tech Leading projects across group of engineers

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and specialists in product, design, and operations
- Experience Tech Leading teams
- Experience driving initiatives at a broader level across an organization or company
- Experience running in-product experiments, A/B testing
- Experience and interest in leveraging AI developer tools

- Track record of identifying and fixing problems.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $192,000 - $240,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
