What is New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority?
The NZeTA provides electronic travel authorization for citizens of visa-waiver countries, Australian permanent residents, and certain cruise ship passengers visiting or transiting New Zealand. Authorization is valid for 2 years from approval, permitting multiple entries with stays of up to 3 months per visit (6 months for UK citizens), and is linked electronically to the traveler's passport. Applicants pay a one-time fee of NZD $17 (mobile app) or NZD $23 (web form), plus a mandatory NZD $100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), with no recurring subscription fees thereafter. The service is administered by Immigration New Zealand under the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment and uses New Zealand's RealMe government identity verification system for authentication.
