What is Deliveroo?
Deliveroo is a three-sided marketplace connecting consumers, approximately 182,000 restaurant and grocery partners, and roughly 140,000 self-employed riders across 9 markets including the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE. Founded in 2013 by Will Shu and Greg Orlowski, the company offers on-demand delivery of meals and groceries through its app and website. Deliveroo also provides a subscription service called Deliveroo Plus, offering members unlimited free delivery on eligible orders at a fixed monthly or yearly fee. In 2025, Deliveroo was acquired by DoorDash for £2.9 billion, becoming a subsidiary alongside Wolt under the DoorDash family of brands.
