Fintua integration

Overview

New - Early Access

The Fintua integration with Brex connects your expense data directly to Fintua’s VAT recovery solution, automating and streamlining the VAT reclaim process. By syncing expense data, including receipts and transaction details, the integration reduces manual work and makes it easier to identify business expenses that may include reclaimable VAT.

Once connected, Fintua applies country-specific VAT rules to review eligible expenses, support a more compliant recovery workflow, and help maximize potential reclaim value. This integration is especially useful for teams that manage VAT recovery through Fintua outside of Brex and want a more efficient, automated process.

Before you start

Before connecting Fintua to Brex:

  • Confirm you can sign in to both your Brex account and your Fintua account.
  • Confirm you have permission to manage integrations in Brex.
  • Confirm that two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled for your Brex account.

When you connect Brex to Fintua, Fintua will be able to access the Brex data included in the authorization request.

Connecting Brex to Fintua

To connect your Brex account to Fintua, follow these steps:

Step 1: In your Brex dashboard, click your name in the top-right corner and go to Integrations.

Step 2: Under Tax Management, find Fintua and click ‘Connect’.

Step 3: When you’re redirected to Fintua, enter your email address on the Fintua login page.

Step 4: After logging in, you’ll be redirected back to Brex to provide consent for Fintua to access your Brex data.

Step 5: Complete the consent flow in Brex to finish the connection.

Step 6: Wait for Fintua’s email with the next steps and any additional setup instructions.

What happens next

After the integration is connected:

  • Brex shares your expense data with Fintua as part of the VAT recovery workflow.
  • Fintua reviews synced expense data, including receipts and transaction details, to identify reclaimable VAT.
  • Fintua applies country-specific VAT rules to support a more streamlined and compliant recovery process.

Note: You may need to complete additional onboarding steps directly with Fintua after the Brex connection is complete.

Revoking the Fintua connection

If you need to stop sharing Brex data with Fintua, you can revoke the integration from your Brex dashboard.

Step 1: In your Brex dashboard, click your name in the top-right corner and go to Integrations.

Step 2: Find Fintua and click ‘revoke’.

Step 3: Confirm that you want to revoke Fintua’s access.

After access is revoked, Fintua will no longer receive new Brex data through the integration.

Note: Revoking the connection in Brex will not close your Fintua account or stop an active VAT recovery engagement. Contact Fintua directly for questions about your Fintua service, onboarding status, or reporting.
