# New improvements to budgets

Employees can request new budgets and budget owners can delete budgets that are no longer needed.

These budget-related actions are now possible in the Brex dashboard:

**Request budgets**

Employees can easily request new budgets for review by managers and admins. Once approved, they can start spending right away by mapping existing cards to that budget or creating a dedicated budget card.

**Delete budgets**

Budget owners and controllers can delete a budget that was erroneously created or no longer needed to ensure that it will no longer accept card transactions. They can terminate a budget to stop spending but have it remain searchable in the Brex dashboard.
