Apply for financial services
From the Accounts page, you can choose to apply for a Brex card, Brex business account, or both.
To apply for the Brex business account, you’ll need to know if you are subject to backup withholding.
To apply for a Brex card, you’ll need to know your monthly revenue and select whether to base your credit limit on an external bank account or Brex business account (learn about Brex credit limits). For initial set up, we recommend selecting an external bank account. You’ll be prompted to use Plaid to connect your account. Follow the instructions to enter your online banking credentials. If your bank isn't listed, choose the manual option and input your routing and account numbers.
After adding your initial bank connection, you can connect additional bank accounts from the Settings section of your dashboard. You can also view, remove, or fix current connections from this same place.
You will hear back in 2 - 3 business days and should then continue with the next step.
Set up Brex
Set up card autopay
To ensure smooth sailing with Brex cards, it's important to set up auto-pay before getting started, as you cannot carry a balance and must pay your card statement in full each time.
Step 1: Navigate to the Accounts page and click on Set up autopay under Credit.
Step 2: Select one of the linked bank accounts you set up in previous steps to use for card payments.
Step 3: Brex will deposit and withdraw $0.01 for validation.
Step 4: To avoid any service interruptions, confirm with your bank that Brex is allowlisted for ACH payments with these details:
- Organization name: Brex Inc
- Organization ID: 8195391000
Payments will be made available automatically at the end of your statement cycle, or the next business day when the date falls on a weekend.
If you're unable to successfully connect your bank to Brex, you'll be asked to provide us with your two most recent bank statements, as well as the full account and routing numbers for the bank account from which you'd like to make payments.
Note: Brex business account underwriting is required for daily payments and your card limit can be calculated up to 100% of the account’s balance.
Fund your Brex business account
Click Move Money and then Add funds under Brex business account on the Accounts page and choose between:
Receive a wire from another bank (best for receiving funds from vendors, investors, or other external banks)
Transfer from a connected account
Deposit a check
Then, follow the prompts to fund your account for the first time. If you're still having trouble connecting your bank account, please refer to Manage your bank accounts for underwriting.
TIP: Going forward, when you click Move money > Deposit money in your dashboard, you can select your bank and initiate a transfer to your Brex business account without any sign-in credentials.
Transition spend to Brex
You can easily transition existing vendor spend to Brex by following the steps outlined in this article.
