Relationship Management at Brex
The Relationship Management team is responsible for existing-client revenue at Brex. Every member of our team directly affects our bottom line and is also a key driving-force why our clients love us.

The RM team’s mission is to retain our client by helping them realize their full potential with Brex by:

  • Increasing share of wallet on our suite of products
  • Cross-selling new solutions (such as Brex Cash - our banking product, and Brex Premium - our Expense Management, and Bill Pay software)
  • Proactively addressing causes of client churn
  • Providing Value Added Services to our clients (connection to VCs / recruiting support / curated introductions)

We have a unified culture recognizing big wins daily and celebrating individual accomplishments weekly and monthly. We deeply care about hiring individuals that spike in Empathy because we believe that is the only way to promote a culture of Client Focus. Lastly, the RM team is responsible for helping other parts of the company (such as Product/Engineering/Marketing) to understand what our clients need to be successful - so every member of the team is expected to work cross-functionally.

What you’ll do

You will be expected to grow from a front-line manager to managing other managers within a 6-12 month period.

You will start off as a front-line manager to a group of 6-8 Relationship Managers who will each manage a book of 100 to 250 early-stage venture-backed clients (Seed/Series A). You will be expected to be heavily involved in recruiting your own team.

You will be responsible for 1:1 coaching and mentoring, whilst driving the strategy of a new team. If you enjoy building teams from scratch (involved with the strategy and scaling) at a fast-growing company this role is for you. Your role will be very cross functional - working with leaders across sales, marketing, finance, underwriting, risk, data, product, and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • (immediately) Recruit and manage a group of 6-8 Relationship Managers and provide daily 1:1 mentoring and coaching
  • (6-12 month horizon) Recruit and manage a team of 2-4 managers
  • Partner with data and finance to create and polish existing metrics that evaluate the individual and team’s performance
  • Build dashboards (in Looker / Salesforce / and other tools) to monitor the success of our clients and the performance of the team
  • Contribute to the strategy of the team - you will be expected to write memos around new processes/ideas
  • Represent the RM team cross-functionally with leaders of other departments

Requirements

  • 4+ years of previous management experience at a b2b SaaS company or financial services company in a client success or relationship management or sales role (ideally with a quota-carrying team)
  • Experience building a client facing (revenue-driving) organization from scratch
  • Experience working with tech founders (ideally tech banking / VC or Accelerator experience)
  • Proficient in data-analytics tools like Looker and Excel

  • FINRA Licenses: Series 7 & Series 63
