Product at Brex

The Product organization identifies and scopes out the most impactful opportunities for Brex to tackle. Our Product Managers have a deep understanding of the business and are responsible for aligning cross-functional teams across the company around key decisions. They work most closely with the Engineering and Design teams to set a well thought-out product strategy and define a roadmap that ensures Brex's products continue to evolve for the benefit of our customers. 

What you’ll do

As a senior member of the Product Management team at Brex, you will be responsible for owning the roadmap and strategy for Brex’s Cards payments platform across our infrastructure and APIs. This leader owns the core of Brex’s Card processing business making this a critical and high visibility role. A product leader in this role should enjoy spending significant time both with senior customer stakeholders on strategic roadmap discussions, with internal developers understanding current pain points and needs, with engineering leaders identifying opportunities to improve our core systems and other product leaders depending on card/transaction features. Our team is committed to creating a driven and diverse company with ambitious people from wide-ranging backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Brex’s Card Issuing and Processing platform including all the infrastructure and APIs  
  • Establish the vision for the product team and challenge the status quo and inspire people toward a unified outcome 
  • Set clear goals and metrics for the team and be held accountable to achieving them. Efficiently execute to ship product and deliver impact for our business and customers
  • Define new products and features by working closely with payments, business development, partners, other product teams, data and operations
  • Lead large, cross-functional groups of people to deliver on the team’s mission. Communicate concisely and influence outcomes across Engineering, Data, Operations, Payments, Partners and other Product teams

Requirements

  • Technical expertise: You’ve led large-scale financial platforms or built products that scale. You are equally excited about working on achieving 99.9999% reliability, well-designed APIs and the impact of financial platforms on the customer-facing experience 
  • Analytical: Aptitude for digging deep into the data, thinking from first principles, and delivering the best results
  • Team-first: The team comes first and you have proven experience working well with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Crisp communicator: High attention to detail including precise and effective communications around technical concepts, including the ability to translate technical concepts into easy to understand explanations with external customers/partners
  • Results-oriented: You enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment, deals well with ambiguity and focuses on driving impact

Bonus points

  • The ability to inspire and lead a team/project effectively (providing updates, meeting deadlines and driving decisions forward)
  • Experience creating a centralized product feedback process that helped contribute to quarterly planning and product prioritization
  • Experience writing/editing/contributing to documentation, training materials, help articles to support product launches
  • Running QA testing programs for product launches
