Operations at Brex

The Operations team is the bridge between our product and our customers. Our priority is to keep our customers happy and their businesses protected, while delivering vital information back to our internal teams. We are responsible for underwriting all of our customers, while simultaneously managing Brex’s risk exposures. We work cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Data, and Engineering to allow Brex to scale efficiently, keeping quality top of mind.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a well-versed Servicing Associate to be part of the growing Brex team. The candidate will have an extensive knowledge of B2B communications with an emphasis in negotiations and collections. Our ideal candidate thrives in an ever-changing environment, and has willingness to take on projects outside of general position requirements. Having a basic understanding of FDCPA, TCPA, and Credit Reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Accuracy & Diligence
    • Effectively complete tasks in a timely manner (consistent with benchmarking provided by a manager)
    • Adherence to Servicing Standard Operating Procedures with respect to payment plans and other guidelines
  • Risk Management
    • Able to execute and suggest improvements to Brex Servicing Standard Operating Procedures with an appreciation for the trade-offs implicit in taking on additional credit exposure to a customer with the goal of maximizing long-term repayment
  • Collaboration
    • Effectively coordinate with partners in CX, UW, Sales, RM, Risk to devise a clear strategy that maximizes customer repayment in the event of delinquency
  • Functional Expertise
    • Intermediate skills to extract and present data with Looker and Google Sheets
    • Strong understanding of Salesforce Service Cloud, Salesforce Reporting, queue management, Retool, Google Sheets/Excel Functions and Looker
  • Collections Experience
    • Ability to quickly understand an escalated customer repayment situation by gaining context across systems, payment history, market, and industry trends
    • Passionate about problem solving and negotiating based on historical data from clients

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • Strong ability to problem solve and resolve escalated customer issues
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce Service Cloud, Salesforce Reporting, queue management, Retool, Google Sheets/Excel Functions and Looker

Bonus points

  • Series 7 and 63
  • Previous experience in commercial receivable recoveries
