Engineering - The Engineering team includes Data, IT, Security, and Software, and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for Brex and our customers. We believe that engineers should accelerate the business through technology, and collaborate across multiple teams to accomplish that. What you’ll do

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who has interest in software engineering. You will be working on the Metrics Platform engineering team to develop Brex’s source of truth data layer. You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to define and maintain this source of truth at Brex. In addition, you’ll be developing the processes, software and tools to support the productive development of this data. This is a unique opportunity for people with a proficiency in data analytics who are also looking to expand on their software engineering skills in a supportive environment.   

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining curated datasets that serve as the source of truth for all of Brex.
  • Promoting and encouraging a higher standard of creating and organizing data tables.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to not only understand business requirements but also creating high quality data tables that satisfy these requirements.
  • Writing well-formatted code that will power the creation of these core data tables.

Requirements

  • The ability to understand business domains and have worked as an analyst or a similar function for at least 2+ years.
  • Strong skills in curating/cleaning data in any SQL dialect.
  • Experience writing code such as basic scripts. 
  • Experience working with different stakeholders to understand their requirements, implement necessary data tables, and define best practice on building data tables and pipelines for business needs.

Bonus points

  • You have experience with Snowflake SQL and Python.
  • You have a background in data warehousing, data pipelining and data engineering.
