Engineering at Brex

The Engineering team includes Data, IT, Security, and Software, and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for Brex and our customers. We believe that engineers should accelerate the business through technology, and collaborate across multiple teams to accomplish that.

What you’ll do

As an IT Client Platform Engineer at Brex, you'll help bootstrap the engineering practice for our growing client endpoint fleet, which includes Mac, PC, iOS, Android, ChromeOS devices. You will ensure that our client endpoints are always encrypted, protected, easy to update, easy to inventory, and easy to use. You'll focus on delighting our users by ensuring that devices arrive ready to use out of the box.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build strong, resilient, and robust APIs, libraries, and tools to power Brex engineers and operations
  • Own functionality and scalability features by taking responsibility from inception to deployment
  • Be responsible for the full software development lifecycle - design, development, testing, and operating in production
  • Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes you will encounter.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with industry-leading client configuration management tools such as Chef, JAMF, Munki, Puppet, Intune
  • Software development experience, ideally in a CI/CD environment
  • Very strong experience with Mac and Windows systems internals, including deployment, packaging, custom development, security, policy enforcement
  • Experience building out inventory management for a fleet of endpoints at scale
  • Experienced with directory services and common integrations such as Okta
  • Bent on delivering a seamless user experience
  • Strong security focus and current knowledge of security landscape
